Project Galileo
Bringing Jupiter to Earth
Welcome to the Project Galileo Home Page! Check
out our extensive collection of images and data from Jupiter, read a brief
introduction to the mission, and join the excitement as we take you through
Galileo's exploration of our solar system's largest planet.
Announcements:
The Galileo Solid State Imaging Team has delivered
all imaging data, through and including data from the spacecraft's 14th
orbit of Jupiter, to the Planetary Data System (PDS) for archival. Image
products which are of special interest to the public have been available
on an ongoing basis during the spacecraft's journey through the Jovian
system in order to share with the public the excitement of exploration
and new discoveries being made via the Galileo spacecraft.

This Web page is an attempt to bring as many
of NASA's still images as we can find to one location. If we have missed
a site, please send the URL to comments@www.hq.nasa.gov. This is not a
unified searchable data base, though some of these collections have search
capability.
Note: Some of these image archives are geared
toward researchers rather than the general public and may require fast
Internet connections and extensive memory. These links are included with
more generally accessible archives to more accurately present the broad
range of NASA's research programs. Some of these collections also may partially
duplicate others.

The SERENDIP Project
The UC Berkeley Search For Extraterrestrial Civilizations
The UC Berkeley SETI Program, SERENDIP (Search
for Extraterrestrial Radio Emissions from Nearby Developed Intelligent
Populations) is an ongoing scientific research effort aimed at detecting
radio signals from extraterrestrial civilizations. The project is the world's
only "piggyback" SETI system, operating alongside simultaneously conducted
conventional radio astronomy observations. SERENDIP is currently piggybacking
on the 1,000-foot dish at Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, the largest
radio telescope in the world.
SERENDIP is dedicated to providing an answer
to the age-old question "Are we alone?"
